It’s one of the biggest days of your life, it’s your WEDDING DAY!!
All hands are on deck to make this day perfect and everything you have dreamed of. You’re feeling excited, nervous, and anxious all at one time. Butterflies are fluttering in your stomach each minute that passes by knowing that you are one step closer to marrying the person of your dreams & soulmate!
You have finally paid for all the big and small details, but there is one thing that might have slipped your mind in all the hustle and bustle, your vendor’s gratuity. Although tipping your vendors is not mandatory, it is always a nice way of saying “thank you for all your hard work and everything you have done”. There are many details that go unseen by you and your guests to create this perfect, well thought out, and stress-free day.
Knowing the amount, who, what, and when to tip can be kind of tricky. Our team at CR Planning & Events has created a Tipping Guide to help you. While some vendors include gratuity in their contracts, many vendors do not. Many vendors feel that tips should be earned based on how well they have performed their service to make your wedding day go smoothly and everything you have envisioned, down to the smallest details.
The cost of tipping your vendors can add up quite quickly. For example, catering alone can be between $200-$600 based on how many staff members were needed, which is then based on your guest count and type of dinner service you have chosen. Most tips should be handed out the day of the wedding. A go to person to hand them out would be your planner, family member, or friend.
The overall cost for this special day in your life can be pretty pricey, so if you feel that tipping vendors is not in the budget then a hand-written thank you note is always appreciated and greatly valued. Another way to say thank you or highlight a vendor’s service is to write a review on WeddingWire, The Knot, or any online outlet that future brides might use.
Here is the link to the CR Tipping Guide to breakdown the appropriate amount for each vendor.
I hope you have found this blog post helpful when planning for your big day! We look so forward to all our future weddings at Chestnut Ridge! We are also, so thankful for all the couples who have had their big day here!!
