In modern times, a wedding can be so many things. A celebration of love, a legal joining of two people, an excuse to dress to the nines, a reason for guests to get a few too many IPAs, etc. One of the most exciting things a wedding can be for your guests, is a nudge to take a mini-vacation! Yep, that’s right! People get caught up in the day-to-day life cycle that it takes a monumental celebration for them to get out of the house for a weekend. Your wedding can bring together friends and families from all over the place. Having the perfect day for your wedding can alter how your guests will create their week(end)!
Who doesn’t love a Friday night feeling?! The excitement of knowing you have the rest of the weekend to live free from school or work. Fridays can bring out the joy, and a lighter feeling to everyone! Maybe you celebrate Fridays by kicking back around a bonfire and roasting some marshmallows and looking up at the stars, attend your favorite concerts, and/or quench your thirst with something a little stronger than water. The really inciting thing about them is no matter how you spend your Fridays, they are associated with a celebration! Celebrating the completion of a tough week, or celebrating a really great week, or even just celebrating how you have two days following to get your life together for the week to follow.
So, I guess what I am saying is Fridays = Celebration! What better day to “ring” in a pair of newlyweds than on a celebratory Friday evening?! If you and your crew like to have a blast and dance the night away, a Friday wedding might be a great fit for you! Not to mention, after the reception you, your new hubby, and your friends can all attend some breweries, bars, or dance clubs for a fun Friday night downtown! The town will be full of life, and it will seem as if the whole city will be celebrating you!
From a venue & vendor perspective it is one of our favorite days to perform a wedding! We have had a week of rest and preparation for the weekend to come. Each vendor is fresh, excited, and ready for the big weekend they will have. The venue is spotless since there was no wedding the night before. Needless to say, everyone has been expecting you! After your kick-butt Friday wedding + Friday night after party, your guests will have the rest of the weekend to explore the greater Western NC area; this additional time will allow a Saturday full of activities, and then a Sunday of travel back home. #WhatAWeekend!
Oh, yes! Saturdays – the most common day for a wedding around the globe! The day that falls smack dab in the middle of the weekend. Who can say that Saturday isn’t on their top list of favorite days of the week? I’ll wait. Saturdays are filled with sleeping in, outdoor activities, and exciting night life. All ingredients to create a fun & relaxed wedding day! Saturday weddings allow guests to travel in after work on Friday, or on Saturday morning, have a full day of wedding festivities, and then travel back home on Sunday. One full complete weekend, with no extra days off from work or school. A Saturday wedding will allow your guests to experience the nightlife on the evening of the wedding, and the surrounding area for brunch the following day on their way out of town.
On the production side, your venue & vendors will be on a roll and ready to rock for your big Saturday wedding! They either had a wedding the previous day and that was getting them warmed up for your day, or they are starting fresh for the weekend! Overall, Saturday weddings really grasp the highlight of the weekend. Since they have a buffer day on each side, one for preparation & one for rehabilitation, they have the best of both worlds!
Whew! We LOVE some Sunday weddings! Why you might ask…well, Sundays are typically filled with church, French Toast, and front porch swinging! If that doesn’t smell sweet to you, I don’t know what does. Self care Sunday or Sunday Funday, whichever you call it rings true to its pure nature. Sunday was created to be the day of rest, the day of recognition to the the previous week’s work, and the opportunity to prepare for the next to come.
Brunch weddings are one of the most romantic atmospheres to be in, with their natural purity. Sunday weddings give guests the opportunity to explore the area of the wedding all weekend. They can make an entire weekend out of the trip, and then top it all off with celebrating the marriage of their close friends/family! They will also present themselves to couples who find rest in one another, or possibly more mild personalities. Sunday weddings typically steer away from large evening alcohol consumption, but are no stranger to a mimosa bar!
The BEST thing about choosing a wedding day is there is no wrong day to choose! Each day listed above has specific elements that bring to life a certain feeling we get when that day arrives! When I say “Woohoo! It’s Friday after 5pm!” you probably started craving a glass of Pinot Grigio (or your beverage of choice), and felt like letting your hair down! However, when I say “It’s a Sunday morning!” some worship music, a good brunch, and a mimosa might come to mind!
There is a certain persona that a day holds, and that day’s persona will usually match the personality of the couples, and the vibes of their friends & families. For example, a Friday evening wedding will most likely attract a couple who come to life when a gathering occurs. Friday weddings connect well with social butterflies! Whereas a Sunday wedding can connect better with a more reserved or relaxed couple! Not to say that these days are only reserved by the couples who match this energy, we just see these match patterns. However these patterns ring true, no matter which day you choose you should know that you will work with your planner, your venue, and your vendors to make your day just that – YOURS! There will never be another wedding like yours.
