In our world these days it can be extremely difficult to keep up with all of the changes occurring, especially when mandates directly affect very personal things such as family, friends, and gatherings. Some of the questions you’re probably asking yourself…What is the travel policy right now? How can I make my guests feel safe right now? What does all this mean for my wedding day and my vendors? Although we are all rolling with the punches these days, we still need to move forward in our jobs, and our job is PLANNING YOUR BIG DAY! We wish we could read into the future to know exactly how to proceed with weddings, parties, and with life in general, but the Lord only knows what’s next. Since this whole thing began, we have seen a rise in Intimate Weddings – an amend trend, if you will!

As a venue & as planners, we have the opportunity to see trends occurring before many others do! We have a great intimate weddings option and want you to know that we’re in the game, and are here to guide you through the lowdown of just how important they are.

Safety for You & Your Guests

Tough topic alert – Intimate Weddings style!! Trust us, we are still establishing our footing in the midst of all this change as much as you are. We can’t begin to imagine what couples are currently enduring. Planning in a time that is totally uncertain seems counterintuitive, but we holdfast to the hope that things will continue to recuperate. In March, as you know the human world stopped, but the Earth kept spinning. We understand that we must do the same when faced with adversity. We continue to evolve while the world revolves! Planning for big days is what we live for, and we will do just that with what we are given — small or large.

Hosting events within our current circumstances will no doubt look different, but sometimes the unplanned turns out to be the most beautiful. By having a smaller guest count, what we refer to as “intimate”, allows you and your guests to feel more comfortable. Since it is a more controlled environment, your CR staff and your vendors have the ability to maintain safe distances, further implement safety procedures, and ensure you and your guests are comfortable. You may not even notice while smooching on your recent husband but just by having that peace of mind is worth your sanity and your fun time!

Keeping within the Mandates

Ohhh, yes! The unclear clarity of who can do what. As most businesses begin opening, it looks a little different on everyone. Your breweries, malls, and even your venue all have different mandates to follow. Our venue staff is staying up to date on all regulations put forth in our state, and will continue to do so as new ones roll out. The BEST part about this, is like many other businesses, we are doing these mandates with YOU in mind.

We know just how impactful our response is to your wedding day. We are going to do everything in our power to prepare, plan, and design your big day to be just as magical. That being said, by having a more intimate wedding, you are giving yourself more flexibility to stay within what mandates may allow. The larger the buffer, the more answers we know for sure hence the more certain we can be about our preparations for your wedding.

Intimate Weddings Do Not Always Mean Small Weddings

Oh, girl! Grab your tea, or your venti 2 pumps vanilla iced coffee with a double shot of espresso and almond milk, or your green smoothie and listen up! Just because you are thinking about hosting an intimate wedding, doesn’t mean everything in it will be small. When we say “intimate” we are talking about how many guests will be in attendance the day of. Imagine this, you were originally hoping to have a wedding for 200 guests, and now you have decided to have a guest count for 50. That’s a pretty big difference in guest count, and with our 2020 era we have seen it happen! Imagine having the budget for up to 200 guests, but utilizing it for your new up to 100 guest wedding. Your wedding could be an ultimate fairy tale! *A little louder for the people in the back!*

Many times what we see happen is the couple gets caught up in the amount of people they invite and the “bigger the better” that budget categories can be spread very thin during wedding planning. But isn’t that contridictory? You want to “go big or go home” but can’t seem to stretch your budget to make that work. Of course you want everyone to be involved in the celebration of your love with you! We totally get that! But you can still have that wow factor with less people. We want you to be stunned by the beauty of your big day, no matter how big or small your guest count.

Ok, but What About My Uninvited Friends/Family?

We understand it’s not for everyone but if you are thinking about lowering your guest count for a more stable mindset, the guests who will not be able to attend will sympathize with you. The love and respect that your guests have for you as a soon to be Mr. & Mrs. will show through this process, we promise!

A wonderful positive about our society is we have access to connections that no other generation has been exposed to. We have the ability to make magic translate through photography & videography like never before. The guests that didn’t get a call back, will be able to live out your day with you. Maybe either in real time virtually, or once those videos come back!

More cake & champagne for you and your hubby! Leftovers for the whole family! Oh, and let’s not forget the ability to personally thank everyone who was able to attend, and not feel like you need a nap afterwards.

Another great idea that’s totally worth considering is getting married in an intimate setting with closest friends and family only. At your 1 year anniversary, throw a huge anniversary style reception for the whole originally guest list to attend & celebrate! We LOVE this idea. Also, who doesn’t want two weddings for the same love story!?
